I will be missing next week so the next Friday smiles will be in 2 weeks. There is so much going on here at the moment that I need a bit of a rest....hope you don't mind.
This week has been another lovely hectic week filled with Christmas preparations...sewing/ cooking etc.
I have a lovely collage of the boys to share with you from last weekend....
We enjoy crafty/ creative time with them. Here they are painting gingerbread men and having lots of fun....they are growing up far too fast.
I just have lots of funnies to share with you now before I wish you all a very happy Christmas and a wonderful 2025.
As we inch ever closer to Christmas day I've been keeping busy. I've been feeling like Santa's little helper with all I have been making [some of which I can't share with you....yet]. For now I can share these...
I made the boys some marble mazes...they have one of these and love it so I've made them a few more each.
I made 10 little magnetic fish and a fishing rod for them to play with.
I made them a large noughts and crosses game to play together with.
I then made 12 bean bags and a floor target.
I'm determined to make lots of memories for them that avoid the need for gadgets.
I then made 7 fabric bags to keep all their games in...to encourage them to tidy away before getting the next game out [well I can stay hopeful can't I?].
I think I've used nearly all my fat quarters now so I can see a shopping trip coming up soon :-)
I hope you have enjoyed your visit today. My plan is to shut up shop this Friday to enjoy a couple of weeks chill [who am I kidding?].....baking and Christmas prep to be done yet.
It's been another lovely week filled with smiles here at Sewing by Annie's. Our Grandchildren give us reasons to smile every week. We went to watch Lexi perform in her Christmas dance show and she was amazing...she dances with an older group of girls now and is the smallest but she really keeps up with her performance and even won the team player award for her attitude with other dancers...
Here she is with her dance teacher recieving her award....so very proud of her.
We enjoy our time with Theo and Louie each week and I couldn't resist snapping them playing so nicely together.
We have put our Christmas decorations up and each year these go on our tree....my Mum knitted them all from the same pattern, yet they are all quite different. They always make me smile.
We saw this postbox topper when we were out the other night and I couldn't resist snapping it from different angles...isn't is fab?
That just leaves me to add a few funnies to make you smile. I hope these do the job and you will leave me a little message before linking up to your own smiles below.
Hello all. It's been a week bear making for me between other jobs of course.....some of which I can't share until after Christmas.
This gorgeous pair are made in memory of a young Mum who died far too young leaving young children...as you can see she was a nurse so it was close to my heart to make these for her children. I made a little pocket on the front of each for the children to put little memories in.
These are the other two I have made this week. They are made from a Grandad's Stoke football shirts...all the more special to make because I knew him. I hope they bring a lot of comfort to his Grandsons.
That's all I have to share with you this week...there has been lots of secret sewing going on too and if I can remember I will share it with you after Christmas. I hope you are all fit and well and staying safe and warm through the storms.
Here we are at the weekly round up of the things that made us smile....and there's been lots thankfully.
We went to Wellington at the weekend to watch Sam singing a solo during the switching on the Christmas lights celebrations...he confidently went up on the stage and sang beautifully. We are so very proud of him and it's so lovely to watch him grow and develop.
His twin sister, Lexi has had some more proffesional photos taken...aren't they fab. She really loves her dancing and now dances with an older group of girls.
We enjoy the time we now spend with these two each week....here they are showing us their new coats :-)
I seem to have found lots of funnies this week [some are a bit saucy so I hope they don't offend]. I hope they make you smile and you will leave me a little message before linking up to your own smiles below.
Each week seems to be busy for me at the moment...basically because I choose to fill it with exciting sewing...some of which I can share with you.
I finished the boy's cuddly blankets that I had cut out on my desk last week...the fleece for the backing arrived, the colour was perfect and has made really snuggly blankets for them both.
I have since made 8 poppered purse/card holders to put Christmas money in for the Grandchildren ....most of them have requested money this year :-)
On top of all that I have had a steady flow of customers and today will be making 2 more Memory bears so may be a little late in commenting this week.
What a lovely week it's been here at Sewing by Annie's. I've had a creative week with sewing for the boys...you can see some of the things I've been making on my Wednestday post.
We had Theo and Louie to sleep Thursday and Friday nights and most of Saturday and Sunday too this week which was really special.
They painted stones, made lots of origami things, did some weaving and made some wooly pompoms along side enjoying some really special time with their daddy....very special memories made.
Little Peggy is well settled in now and gets up to all sorts.
...she's facinated with the telly esp when there are police sirens on a programme :-)
....she likes to take all her toys out of her yellow toy box and climb in it :-)
....she likes to climb in my boxes of material just like Milly used to too.
All I need to do now is to share a few funnies with you....I hope you find something here to make you smile.
Please leave me a little message and then link up to your own smiles below.
Hi all It's been a productive sort of week for me here at Sewing by Annie's. I've had several customers and have done all their sewing and along side that I have....
Made two lined activity play mats that will gather up to use for storage of lego etc
Crocheted some little worry worms...and have other stocking fillers in mind to make too.
Appliqued the boys names on new stockings.
Appliqued their names on two santa sacks.
Made them each a book cushion with their names on the fronts....they are just waiting for a book for each of the pockets.
I then bond a webbed the things to go on two cuddly blankets for the boys...I'm just waiting for the fleece to come to back them with.
All in all it's been a lovely week making special memories. I've enjoyed being creative.
